I'm an experienced patent and intellectual property attorney and consultant who has helped numerous businesses, some local and some global in scale, to secure their valuable ideas with patents that go on to build brands I help them nurture and protect as well.

In addition to traditional hard and soft IP work, I also do tech transactions work, drafting and negotiating complex deals for both sale-side and purchase-side business partners. I work hard to spot and neutralize risk firmly clients creatively when necessary, and am known as the legal department's deal closer, rather than the "deal stopper."

I leverage more than nine years of practice registered before the USPTO and over 16 total years of intellectual property experience. Over those 16 years, I have had privilege of working with large companies, international businesses, start ups, and directly with independent inventors.

I passionately work with my colleagues, staff and company leaders to remove or work around the challenges that prevent the client and its executive, support and product teams from achieving their best work.

Where is my focus? In patent preparation, prosecution, and IP lifecycle management; IP litigation support; and drafting/negotiating IP and tech transactions, leveraging continual workflow improvement.

1. Identifying valuable, protectable intellectual property (‘of all types) that creates market value, particularly leveraging the patent process in the US and abroad to help my clients create valuable, monetizable patent portfolios. I strategically and collaboratively prepare, prosecute and manage patent portfolios, having contributed patent applications and issued patents to some of the world’s most innovative companies.

2. Preparing and negotiating contracts (primarily IP and tech transactions), strong and enforceable NDAs, letters of intent and a wide range of other agreements. I draft and enforce agreements to protect valuable company assets and know-how, identify and mitigate issues in corporate contracts, and work to protect the client from unacceptable risk. I'm a deal closer who collaboratively works with the business to solve the legal challenges that stop most deals. I find creative solutions to unique problems to keep business moving.
